ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY STATEMENT

At Connemara Seafoods Frozen Limited, we are committed to manufacturing shellfish and crustacean products, which meet the manufacturing requirements of all current food safety legislation and thus provide our customers with a safe, authentic, legal and high-quality range of products.

 

In doing so, the company shall endeavour to produce, pack and despatch all products with the greatest care and to high levels of quality while offering an efficient standard of service throughout.

 

All the company’s operations depend on a clean environment.  Thus, we respect the environment we work in, support sustainable development and are committed to environmentally sound business practices. To fulfil this commitment, we:

 

  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements concerning the environment and those higher or voluntary standards to which we subscribe, including CQA/ECO, BRC, MSC, ORGANIC and HACCP.

  • Continue to improve our environmental and sustainable performance; by setting and reviewing environmental objectives and targets and by taking part in the BIM sustainability program; Origin Green.

  • Ensure that employees are aware of the company’s environmental policy and of their own responsibilities and given the support and training necessary and promote a culture in which all employees contribute to the implementation of this policy.

  • Actively promote and improve the amenity of the area by working together with all relevant governmental and non-governmental bodies including Mayo County Council for the prevention of pollution.

  • Engage and listen to the concerns of our customers, employees, neighbours, and the wider community and provide information to the public regarding the company’s commitment to environmentally sustainable practices.

  • Have developed and apply Environmental Management Systems (EMS), as part of the day-to-day operational practice and ongoing management reporting and control procedures and identify hazards for new and ongoing activities and control the associated risks.

  • Continue to work as an active member of the Clew Bay CLAMS group and create awareness within the company of protected areas in and around the location of our facilities and the sites that we work and remain alert and responsive to developing issues.
